YES partner with Beam for International Women’s Week!
Beam is the world’s first crowdfunding platform for homeless people. Through Beam’s website, you can support a homeless person for the long-term, helping them secure a job, earn a living and get back on their feet. You can also send a message of encouragement when you donate to someone, becoming part of their new support network. For each person you support, you’ll get updates on their progress and follow them on their journey out of homelessness.
YES’s partnership with Beam
YES is partnering with Beam this week, in celebration of International Women’s Day, to support three amazing homeless women who are looking for a fresh start. For the entire week (8th-15th March), your YES purchase will support Beam to help these women retrain, gain new skills and find stable employment. Beam will also send us updates on how the women are progressing on their journey towards a better future.
At YES, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to feel good about themselves. Sadly, there are thousands of homeless women in the UK, many of whom struggle with low self-esteem and a lack of belonging. Through our partnership with Beam, we want to give these homeless women the chance to fulfil their potential and enjoy life to the full.?
Here are some of the wonderful women our donation will help support:
After experiencing domestic abuse last year, Aamna and her four children had to flee the family home, leaving them homeless. She’s since been supported by the council into temporary accommodation and is raising money with Beam to train to become a teaching assistant so she can make a living. She said: “My dream in the future is to contribute positively to society with the skills that I’m learning. I want to see and support everyone that I love to find happiness and contentment too.”
We’re delighted to be supporting Aamna on her journey towards becoming a teaching assistant!

After losing her job as an airline cook at the start of the pandemic, Iwona found herself struggling to get by financially. She’s now raising money with Beam to retrain as a carer and have a more stable future. She said: “When I was young, I used to care for my Grandmother and the memories of supporting her are ones I treasure. Being able to be there for someone when they’re in need I believe is a very special thing.”
We’re so glad to be able to help Iwona become a carer!

Kianna became homeless after a fall-out with her mum, and resorted to sleeping on friends’ sofas with her newborn baby. She’s now raising money with Beam to move into a stable home and eventually into a job as a support worker.
We couldn’t be happier to help Kianna find her own home for her family!
