With the UK in lockdown, staying in is still very much the new going out. But that doesn’t mean you have to skip the Valentine’s Day celebrations. Whilst it’s tempting to treat 14th February like any other day this year (especially if you don’t do Valentine’s) it’s always nice to have something different to look forward to in the diary - and yes you can avoid those cheesy cliches. Whether you’re with a partner, celebrating with friends or by yourself, we've rounded up our favourite activities to make a memorable Valentine's Day 2021.

1. Restaurant in a box

Restaurants may be closed, but thanks to restaurant boxes, you can still enjoy a meal from top London chefs. Simply order a box from your chosen restaurant which contains the ingredients and instructions on how to make the dish, and it’s over to you to impress with your culinary skills. From tapas or thai for two to a luxury lobster tagliatelle with honey roast salt-aged duck – there’s something for everyone. Some kits include multiple courses, plus dessert or even cocktails. Take your pick from these delicious DIY restaurant kits here.

2. Book a cocktail class

Bring the bar home and become a master mixologist with a virtual cocktail class from Mixology, or enjoy a selection of signature cocktails from The Alchemist, served in amber medicine bottles – the perfect Valentine’s pick me up that doubles as an ideal gift idea.

3. Pottery night

Don’t worry, we don’t have that scene from Ghost in mind - we promised no cliches! Air dry clay kits are a great way to make a memory whilst doing something a little different. Either craft something for your other half, or with friends – this works really well over Zoom and there are some great ideas and tutorials on Pinterest. From pinch bowls to plant pots, incense holders or ring dishes - grab a glass of wine and get creative! We recommend this kit from Sculptd.

4. Film night

Providing you haven’t exhausted Netflix, grab the popcorn and host a movie night in your living room. To make it extra special, why not order in some organic snacks and decorate the room with candles or fairy lights. We love Booja Booja organic truffles and Planet Organic’s Himalayan Salt Popcorn.

5. Spa evening

Create a spa experience at home with a selection of organic skincare products. Indulge in a bath to soothe the mind with Verdant Alchemy’s Relax and Retreat Bath Set, then nourish your skin with Odylique’s Polish and Pamper gift set.

6. Enjoy a night in with YES®

We’re thinking a candlelit bath or sensual shower – alone or with a partner! Indulge in the ultimate intimate night in with YES DG Double Glide. Our multipack kit is ideal for those new to YES or looking for a new lubricant experience, as it contains both YES WB water-based lubricant and YES OB plant-oil based lubricant. YES WB is a silky water-based gel that gently moisturises your intimate tissues and is condom compatible. Whilst YES OB is made from plant-oils so is super gentle, soft in texture with great longevity and glide. YES OB can’t be used with condoms but it’s great for sex toys and water play. Experiment with both individually or try combining them both – layer the water-based lubricant on top of the plant-oil based lubricant for the ultimate ‘double glide experience.’

    What is intimate skinscare?

For years, we’ve happily moisturised our faces, cared for our hands, and invested in skincare routines designed to keep our skin healthy and comfortable.
